Are you ready?

“Therefore keep watch, because you do not know on what day your Lord will come” (Matthew 24:42).
Most people recognize the importance of preparation, of being ready. Organizations arise, committees are formed, books are written, and government agencies are created, all for the purpose of preparing people. Those in business are encouraged to be flexible and search for opportunities, yet to set specific goals. People in the military are trained and drilled until ready for battle. Yet in spite of all this preparation, outcomes are often uncertain.
There is, however, a certainty that all humanity will face: the judgment of God. Jesus will return to earth for those who serve Him. Those who do not will be left. In Matthew chapter 24, Jesus spoke forcefully of this coming event that will occur “at an hour when you do not expect him” (24:44).
Are you ready for the return of Christ? The answer to that question is found in preparation. When you have accepted the Lord Jesus as your Savior and called on Him to guide your life, you are prepared for His return. And you can be assured that this preparation will bring the results Jesus has promised.
Thought for Today: Jesus said He would return for His servants. You can rest in that promise.
